Wire EDM

Wire EDM is a unique metal fabrication technique, where a thin single-strand wire electrode is utilized to cut through metal materials. This process operates based on the principle of electrical discharge, where sparks generated between the wire and workpiece erode the material to form desired shapes and profiles.

Benefits:

High Precision
Known for its exceptional precision, capable of cutting intricate and delicate shapes with tight tolerances.

Less Mechanical Stress
Unlike traditional machining, Wire EDM inflicts less mechanical stress on the workpiece, making it ideal for delicate or brittle materials.

Superior Surface Finish
The process yields a superior surface finish, often reducing or eliminating the need for post-machining processes.

Applications:

Aerospace
Used for cutting complex aerospace components such as turbine blades and other high-precision parts.

Automotive
Essential for manufacturing precision parts like fuel injection systems and transmission components.

Medical
Used in the creation of surgical instruments and other precision medical components.

Specific Applications:

Production of Stamping Dies and Molds

Ideal for producing stamping dies and molds due to its ability to handle complex geometries.

Prototype Production
Effective for prototype production and small-lot manufacturing, allowing for cost-effective testing and design verification.

Materials:

Capable of machining conductive materials, including aluminum, copper, steel, titanium, and superalloys like Inconel and Hastelloy.

Die Sinking EDM

Die Sinking EDM, often referred to as Sinker EDM, is a subtractive manufacturing technology where an electrode is used to erode material from a workpiece, creating cavities and complex shapes through spark erosion.

Benefits:

Accuracy:
Sinker EDM produces features with extreme accuracy.

Blind Cavities:

Uniquely capable of producing blind holes and cavities with complex, irregular shapes.

Simple Tooling
This process does not require a tool harder than the material being machined, simplifying tooling requirements.

Applications:

Mold-making
Predominantly used in mold-making industries to create complex molds with high precision.

Tool and Die Industries
Essential for creating intricate dies and tools with complex geometries.

Specific Applications:

•Injection & Stamping Mold Making: Ideal for creating cavities in hardened steels used in injection mold making.

Materials:

•Sinker EDM can machine any conductive material, regardless of hardness. Common materials include steel, aluminum, copper, and other conductive metals.
